The exclusion of MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort has been overturned

Vuelta Sport Office, the organization responsible for the operational management of the Tour de Hongrie, has reviewed the exclusion of MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort. As a result of constructive cooperation with the parties involved, the team will be allowed to participate in the race.

According to an official statement from the International Testing Agency (ITA), Bálint Makrai, a cyclist with MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort, tested positive in a doping test on March 30. On April 17, Károly Eisenkrammer, the main organizer of the Tour de Hongrie, announced in a statement, in the spirit of zero tolerance for doping, that the team would be excluded from Tour de Hongrie as a result of the doping violation.

The Tour de Hongrie organizing team subsequently consulted with the parties involved, including team manager Antonio Bevilacqua. The team was able to provide adequate assurances that it acts in the spirit of fair play and clean sport; it suspended the rider in question and will continue to cooperate fully and transparently with the parties involved in the investigation. The team, which includes reigning Hungarian champion Márton Dina, will thus be able to participate in Tour de Hongrie.

The 47th Tour de Hongrie will take place between 13-17 May, with 114 riders from 19 teams participating.
