Eight WorldTeams, eight ProTeams, three Continental Teams and the National Team of Hungary will fight for the yellow jersey between 8 and 12 May.
The 20-team field of 120 riders will include defending champions UAE Team Emirates, INEOS Grenadiers, Jayco AlUla, Lidl-Trek, Team dsm-firmenich PostNL, BORA - hansgrohe, Bahrain Victorious and Astana Qazaqstan.
The most experienced team of the competition will be Polti - Kometa, which will participate in Tour de Hongrie for the seventh time. At the other end of the scale are the five teams making their first visit to Hungary: Euskaltel - Euskadi, Corratec - Vini Fantini, TDT - Unibet, Pierre Baguette and MBH Bank Colpack Ballan. Only two foreign Continental Teams are allowed to compete in the ProSeries races, this year the organisers have chosen the latter two.
There will be no shortage of stars among the competitors this year. The provisional entry list includes three-time world champion Peter Sagan, 34-time Tour de France stage winner Mark Cavendish, five-time Tour de France and two-time Tour de Hongrie stage winner Dylan Groenewegen, Milano-Torino winner Arvid de Kleijn and Tour de Hongrie defending champion Marc Hirschi.
