30th Tour de Hongrie

Zoltán Remák kept his winning streak going from last year: this time, he was unbeatable.

The 30th was one of our hardest editions ever: the peloton had to face four mountain stages, including a mountaintop finish and a mountain time trial to Kékestető. The race was decided in the Mecsek Mountains around Pécs, where the short, but incredibly steep roads made the reigning champion Zoltán Vanik to push his bike up the hill. Slovak Zoltán Remák gained a huge advantage, which he kept through the race. Matej Jurco won the first and the last stage, but there was another rider with two victories: 22-year-old Tamás Lengyel won both Stage 3 in Miskolc and the mountain time trial of Stage 5.
