Third from the left is Sergei Ivanov, winner of the 24th Tour de Hongrie
Ivanov later went on to win two stages at the Tour de France (2001, 2009), the General Classification of Tour de Pologne (1998) and the Amstel Gold Race (2009), before retiring in 2011.
The Hungarians also had something to cheer for: Csaba Stieg, Zoltán Bebtó and Attila Árvai all won stages, while János Istlstekker came very close to reach the podium.
