Győző Török did not want to wait for too long: he won the 1st stage by 4 minutes, and kept his lead through the remaining 4 days.
He wasn't even bothered when he - and his two compatriot, József Albert and Lajos Szabó - lost a 7-minute lead because of a railway barrier on Stage 3.
Another interesting fact about this race is that the Hungarian sports daily became discredited by the government, because it wrote about the road conditions during the race...
